Much Ado About Kali

Well, I usually bore you all with how it's awkward to get used to drawing characters after I haven't drawn them for a while, and Holly was no exception: she's an odd duck, in that she's shorter than the rest of the female cast (except Honey, of course) and has rounder features than most of them, particularly the two Armin sisters that we've met, who both have long, angular faces. Plus Holly's stacked like a Baywatch lifeguard. Like Halifax, she's taken advantage of the couple of weeks break while Kali's story was going on to get her hair cut. So it's back to the rounder shoulder-length cut she has in the Russia flashbacks from last year, which emphasises her face while preserving an air of femininity. (By contrast, the long hair she had until recently made her look somewhat dowdy, and the shortest cut she had in the Milton Hoight flashbacks of last year either made her look like a lesbian or a boy. And that's even after ignoring the huge KAWAII! eyes everyone was sporting last year.)
I think the next-to-last panel is probably my favourite image of Holly that I've ever drawn; the girl has changed as much as anyone else in the cast since her inception, and she's finally starting to look 'right' to me.
Halifax is channelling Kali in the fourth panel, obviously, and less obviously, in the sixth panel, Ian Brown. You can almost hear him saying 'Ey, we're 'avin' a parrrrteh!'

DAVID'S DVD EASTER EGGS:

For the second panel, I made reference material by putting a camera on the floor and shooting using my feet, up at my own body. Of course, Holly's boobs are probably a bit unrealistic, as I couldn't really make any reference for those on my own without a major change in lifestyle.
