Old Friends, New Faces
3rd April 2006
David R Williams
Half-a-month break between the last one and this; I hope you could remember where we were up to. As longtime readers will know, comic production always gets hit badly whenever I go from England to America, or - as in this case - the other way around. I'd spent long enough using Mary's desktop that I'd forgotten just how hard it was working on putting a comic together on the laptop. It's a good job I have a spare monitor I can hook up to it, because otherwise the colour would be competely out of whack. The processor on this laptop is slow to begin with, and it's a few years old by this point, which has knocked the performance even further. It's hard to adjust to having to wait for PotatoShop to do things, and even when it's a matter of maybe five or ten seconds longer per calculation, then over the course of colouring, shading, lettering and putting together a whole comic that really mounts up to a huge amount of time just wasted, waiting for the computer to do something.
DAVID'S DVD EASTER EGGS:
The last panel has been flipped horizontally due to an art error: Laurell is hugging Jess with her left hand on the original, when in fact she needs her left hand free to support herself with her cane. After flipping the image, Holly's head needed flipping back both to keep her hairstyle consistent and have her looking in the right direction for Halifax slamming the door.
