DAVID'S DVD EASTER EGGS:
The 'Ulysses' picture is a cropped-down version of an old 'Ulysses' movie poster I found online and spent ages tweaking to make it look nice and three-coloured instead of the millions of JPEG colours it had. Then I realised I hadn't drawn a portrait-scale frame and had to crop half of it back out.
The other picture on the wall, the factory-scape, is an homage to Trevor Grimshaw drawn by my brother many moons ago, back on DPaint for the Amiga. It would have been an actual Grimshaw on the wall, but there's only about four of his picture on Google Image Search, and they all look crappy at the resolutions they're in.
I'm not sure why this is a nicer flat than Halifax's flat. This one has a fireplace in it, which is pretty impressive. I suppose it's entirely possible that Halifax's flat has a fireplace buried in there somewhere behind some drywall. Lordland was not, I imagine, the best landlord when it came to fixing things -- and as this strip shows, his fire escape signs left a lot to be desired. 'Get the fuck out,' indeed.
