Mister Halifax, Are You Free?

Quentin, an awkward bitch to draw at the best of times, ended up looking like John Hannah in the penultimate panel here. I quite like the way his shirt turned out, after about twenty minutes of fruitless searching on Google Image Search.
Halifax's hair has attracted a few comments. It does appear to have got a little out of hand -- poor devil appears to be sporting a mullet, almost. Still, for continuity's sake I can't just draw him with shorter hair -- though there's always the possibility of asking Mary if she minds me tipping in a caption "Sporting a new hair-cut, Halifax attended the dinner party..." in a Chief Judge Cal kind of way. (Chief Judge Cal was a character in 2000AD's 'Judge Dredd' strip, who was a tyrannical - and complete barmy - leader. The first artist to work on the story drew Cal with the same haircut as Pat Mills, then editor of 2000AD, who only noticed after it hit the stands. Mills hit the roof and ordered that in subsequent episodes, Cal be drawn with shorter hair -- a continuity goof that was fixed with the addition of a caption box at the start of the next strip which read "Sporting a new hair-cut, Chief Judge Cal...")

Dear Scott Kurtz:
You are a twat.
No, really.
Considering our hatred of that hipster bastard Jacqui Jephs, it may seem that we're just picking on you by calling him a twat. And a jerk. And the sort of snobby webcartoonist scum that gives webcomic artists a bad name. But seriously. All you seem to do is pick fights. You pissed me off enough when you picked on Penny Arcade -- but now you're picking on Fred from Megatokyo, once again. And I like Fred, though I've never met the man. He's been referenced and made fun of in numerous other comics and seems to take everything with gentle good humour. And he seems to be fairly open and honest about his business relationship with his former co-creator Rodney Caston. Megatokyo is a damn fine comic -- one of the best. You wish you could do a comic as good as Megatokyo.
so all in all, it seems that your bickering is just stupid childish petty jealousy and that you need to shut the fuck up.
Love and kisses, Mary.

DAVID'S DVD EASTER EGGS:

For anyone who's interested, yes, those books all correspond to real books, not just random colouring -- the red ones, for example, are Halifax's complete collection of 'Famous Five' first printings, double-stacked so you can only see half of them -- though 'Smuggler's Top' is out at the moment, on the top shelf instead. (Although 'Caravan' is leaning over as if placed where Smuggler's Top should be.)
You can also make out a rainbow of books that are the Sandman library from DC/Vertigo -- second editions, as opposed to the earlier, non-matching covers, or the current third editions, which has a more conservative styling. The complete seven-book set of 'The Invisibles' is also there; along with all ten 'Transmetropolitan' books. The two 'Death' miniseries stand beside the Sandman ones, and Watchmen beside them.
Selected other books, some obscured by word balloons, include Catch-22; Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas; A Night In The Lonesome October; The Bell Jar; Who's Who In Hell; and The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear. (The last of these, Halifax was reading during year zero.)
What the Ashlee Simpson postcard is doing on the side of the bookcase is anyone's guess: perhaps Ashlee reminds Holly of her own younger sister that she talked about a few times last year.
