Nim Nim Nim
22nd January 2007
David R Williams
Feel free to e-mail any bitchy comments you all have about how long it takes us to get new pages of this comic up on the site. Because y'know, it was so nice for the couple of years this was semi-regular to have all the nice e-mails congratulating us on a job well done, a funny joke, a nicely-written or well-drawn strip, etc, etc. Except that didn't really happen all that often, unless it was someone we already knew.
So yes, thanks for the e-mails the past week or two helpfully telling us that we must be fucking lazy. Believe it or not, we were actually aware that there's this thing that usually takes up a lot of our time that we weren't getting done because annoying things like jobs and education were getting in the way. I can't offer any concrete schedule for this comic being updated. Mary's working a full-time job and is back in college on top of that: I'm working a job with hours that are erratic at best and that a non-driver like me takes a long time to get to and from when I have to rely on public transport.
But not to sound ungrateful. I mean, at least we are getting e-mails, which shows that people do care, even if it takes a twenty-something day dry spell to bring them out of the woodwork. So thanks for reading and sticking with us when life is rendering it difficult for us to get this comic done.
If you could all do me a favour, though: pick one of the other webcomics you read that has been exceptionally good lately (if you don't read many others, try Something Positive, Scary-Go-Round and Diesel Sweeties, for starters) and write the creator a nice e-mail just telling them you really dig their work and that their comic brightens your day up just a little. You may well not get a reply, but trust me when I say it'll be really nice for them to get a slice of nice in their inbox and encourage them to keep up the good work.
You don't need to worry about us, though. We're powered by jealousy. We read other webcomics and make our own because of a jealous desire to be better than them. The better everyone else as a whole becomes, the better we get. And the meaner, too. Especially meaner.
