Don't Know When I'll Be Back Again

Since I couldn't find any decent pictures of Manchester Airport's Departure Lounge anywhere, I had to draw it mostly from memory. Which is why bits are there that shouldn't be, and bits aren't there that should be, and why it looks more like a mixture of departures and arrivals (I've spent a fair amount of time at each.)
The awkward thing about having to draw a background that isn't private property of some form is the fact that I then have to draw background people. Characters who will probably only be seen this once and then vanish into the ether of the internets to clog up the tubes (that meme is so last week) to become part of some bizarre internet fanbase no-one has yet devised. And since I don't emulate certain other webcomic artists in making everyone look exactly the frigging same, I opt for the other strategy, which is to draw background characters with much less detail than the foreground ones. (Which, as it turned out, is a good move -- half of them got covered up with dialogue anyway.)

Although I don't like drawing the character, Quentin looks better in this one than his previous appearances. Jess looks good in her first panel, mostly saved by the colouring on the hair. (Hair colouring is starting to take forever. Shakra's the only one who doesn't have a complicated colour scheme on his locks.) The Vince panel looks exactly as I wanted it to, and according to Mary pretty much how she envisioned it when writing the script.
Shakra's hatwear kick continues. What next for the kid with the beard of power and the dome of a million hats?

DAVID'S DVD EASTER EGGS:

If you're wondering who the Sikh kid in the first panel is pointing at, it's the fat shortarse with ginger hair -- Charlie Kennedy, hard-drinking former Liberal Democrat leader, off to Scotland with a suitcase full of booze! When he returns, he will have three suitcases full of booze! Hurrah!
