Kali has four costume changes in the space of this one strip, which must put her somewhere alongside Shannen Doherty's multiple wardrobe swaps during 'Mallrats.' (Being a fictional character, however, we don't have to worry about having to give her the clothes afterwards. Because, in theory, she either doesn't need clothes, being fictional, or, in being fictional, only needs fictional clothes and can have as many as she wants.
This strip was also further complicated by the appearance of two characters we haven't actually seen before (although Mercy Woods has been mentioned on several occasions) which meant I had to come up with new character designs. Fortunately, Annie is only in two panels, and Mary gave a good description of her that was both focused enough to not send me into what-the-hell-does-an-editor-look-like fits, but also open enough that I didn't have to worry about nailing an exact image. Mercy I was given a free run on, which was easy enough since you just take an aggregate of any female horror authors who won't shut up about bloody New Orleans for five minutes in their books. (Now, Poppy is quite justified in not shutting up about it in her blog, given that she lived there and it got flooded and she had to flee and all.) (Anne bloody Rice, however, had nothing to worry about, since she floated to safety on her own swollen ego.)

Oh, and Kali in panels 2-4: yes, the resemblance is fully intended. So shuttup.
