The Existential Horror of Being Ken Barlow

Ken Barlow, who is such a prisoner of Coronation Street that he should really live in Number Six, is played by William Roache, who has recently caused a bit of a fuss by talking about the ridiculous wishy-washy new age belief system he cobbled together to deal with the twin tragedies of losing a daughter at a young age and realising that he would never escape the role of Ken Barlow. It's really like they say about religious beliefs being like genitals: everybody has them, but don't go waving them around in public. ESPECIALLY if you made them yourself out of bits of other ones.
